Training was tough. Iapos;m not kidding. :S After donapos;t know how many weeks of not training, ytdapos;s was tough. Muscle ache at my calves and tummy. I canapos;t laugh.): Bio SPA was rather easy? Didnapos;t have to study after all. Okay turns out that the stupid test is on the 14th of November�for Chem and Amaths is on 29 December. Iapos;ve only got three weeks to study and Iapos;m already scared. :S Everyone, almost everyone, was acting weird today. A wasnapos;t behaving the way she always does and as for B, i dont understand what couldapos;ve possibly have gone wrong. Haiy.

Movies during lessons and Mrs Ng walked in when we were watching Mr Mrs Smith, and just nice, it was the part where they were making out. Hahahaha. Everyoe in class wanted t watch them have make love and didnt wanna fast forward, HORNY. Hahaha.�Date after school with Tania, Chng and Sihui. Went t metro and started trying all the perfumes, Hahaha. This sounds stupid, really really stupid, but I accidentally sprayed some in my eye. :/ Teared a little, but Iapos;m fine:D Sihui left after a while, and�Tania�and I�dragged Chng t look at girly things with us:D Earrings and necklaces and bracelets Chng even considered getting her ear pierce, itapos;s a start.

Rushed hoe after that but it was already raining. Still raining cats and dogs when I got t the bus stop, so I had t walk in. Drenched, cold and shivering, I hope I get sick. I donapos;t wanna go to school tomorrow, Iapos;m scared.

I did not want to crawl out of bed to go to the workday this morning, but I did it.

First one there (disregarding Ian, of course) as usual. Haley come up a few minutes later, then John showed up around 10 or so. We were painting our tar paper with cobblestones for the hallway. It started sprinkling a little bit. We ignored it. Started raining harder about ten minutes later. We flipped and scrambled to get the wet tar paper into the garage. That must have been funny to watch... If anyone was watching... Took care of that, and got our quota (one entire roll of tar paper covered in cobblestones) done by about 12:30, so we all went out to In-N-Out for lunch. Ian freaking ordered a 4 x 4. He ate it faster than I ate my normal one. Jeez. And yay for Animal Fries. Best things in the world. Took Ian home, Haley and Jon got rides from In-N-Out. Ian and I chatted the whole way back, really quite fun. Ianapos;s deeper and not as much of an annoying little ****** in private like that. RFQ is from here.

Came home, did my French homework, did a dictation for my Mom, took a bath, and took a nap. Iapos;m going to do the term paper tomorrow. Mom woke me up when she was going to go to church and told me to order a pizza for her to pick up, so I did that later on. Got all dolled up since I was going over to Laurenapos;s house to make a video later tonight. Ate when Mom brought it home, then headed over to Laurenapos;s. Something was going on partway down H street and it was blocked off, so that threw me for a bit of a loop, but I made it. We shot some really stupid and a really good video for publishing on YouTube, then I came home.

Workday and term paper tomorrow. I could hurl.

1. So yesterday our family friendapos;s had this big fall(kinda) party. There was a bonfire, and a bunch of food. Let me say it was a lot of fun�
Stuff that happened:
* It was C- O- L -D Brr. It is definately fall.
* I�went to my first ever bonfire.
* I�rode a fourwheeler for the first time.
* Roger and his family were there, Jeff and his family were there, Darren and his son was there (Sharon had a bridal shower to go to) as well as Ben and his family. =)
* Jeff (the people throwing the party and a different Jeff than the one above) has two horses, two mini-goats, two German Shepards, and a German Shepard/Lab mix puppy The animals were all so cute.
* We sang songs with a guitar around the campfire.
* We left at around... 11:45 PM.

2. Yesterday was also Lindsay and Courtneyapos;s school carnival. It was a blast�
They did a bunch of games and won prizes. My favorite was probably the booth where you could dye t-shirts tyedye. =P Linday and Courtney both did it- and their shirts look great But it was also strange, because when I went to go get Ariel food (she was working a booth and couldnapos;t leave) one of the other students working the food asked me if I�was dating Austin. I said No, because Iapos;m not. But what I found weirder than that is that I�didnapos;t even know her�But besides that, everything was great

3. I�watched High School Muscial and High School Musical 2 on Friday night.
I�probably stayed up waaaay to late watching them, but I�enjoyed them a lot. It had been awhile since I�had watched/listened to anything High School Musical. OH, and I�already know Iapos;m going to cry when I go see HSM 3 and it ends. Because, itapos;s going to be the end of it.�Yeah, yeah the fourth and fifith and sixith and yadda yadda yadda will have the new people. But this, this is the final High School Musical with the original cast that I know and love. <333

Hmm i think after the previous couple of random, incoherent posts, i ought to do something better today. Havenapos;t been inspired much to blog. But still i guess i should do this blog some justice by putting in at least a decent post. Well there isnapos;t really much coming up these days, save for OP and release of promos results (the horror)

there is nothing much to be said about OP cos my mind just totally tunes out whenever PW is mentioned, even in passing. Anyways reflections should be left to the last, and if i had anything credible to write about anything remotely related to PW iapos;d do better to write it in my IR, which is blank, in all its glory. Haha. Still havenapos;t the slightest clue how to go about doing, okay maybe scratch that, starting my IR, and its due date in 2 days time seems to hold no meaning to me, seeing as i am not exactly jolted into action by this realization.

shall move on to speak at length about the impending release of the promos results. Okays so its time for me to meet my doom. Its kinda freaky how the results of your entire year of slogging, or maybe not slogging but slacking, is going to culminate in the marks we see on the assorted exam scripts that are, i presume gonna be passed down to you, each and every single one of them, in quick succession. And that in about half an hour it will all be over. The onslaught will be over. But then i guess iapos;d have to be back on my feet again, bracing myself for the aftermath of it all. The result of a whole year of slacking and of this wanton attitude towards, what i suppose is "my learning".

this may very well be the big wake up call i need to get my act together. Because i escaped the drubbing during CTs, and i didnapos;t get the message, this time its gonna resonate loud and clear. And iapos;d be a fool for not receiving this message again. Well since iapos;d escaped relatively unscathed for CTs, i suppose all that iapos;d done, or not done, would always catch up with me someday. And i think this time, i should get the point. And i pray that i will. I will take this as a lesson learnt, and then iapos;d hope thereapos;ll be no way iapos;m gonna revert back to my original state again.

cos it really sucks to know you could have gone harder, and to know youapos;re paying the price for not going at full stretch.

letapos;s just hope that next time iapos;ll learn that going all out is the only way to go. Cos its not good to have anything left in me at the end of it all. That just means wasted resources. Lord help me come to terms with it.

Rawlinson, George: The story of Parthia
Colledge, Malcolm A.: The Parthians

Rawlinson is too old for me to read without damaging it, so itapos;s going back to the library with an appropriate comment to the librarian about it. Colledge is a very high level overview. It didnapos;t have the details that I was looking for. Does anyone have a recommendation for Parthia? I do not have a good source for them currently and Iapos;m actively looking.

Hornblower, Simon.: The Greek world, 479-323 BC
Shipley, Graham.: The Greek world after Alexander, 323-30 B.C

These are both from the Routledge History of the Ancient World series. They are also both quite good. I havenapos;t finished them, but I wound up with references to other books that I want to get. Iapos;ll post about the new books when I get them from the library.

Laistner, M. L. W.: A history of the Greek world, from 479 to 323

This is also a solid book. It is more focused on Greece proper while Hornblower goes into more detail about the various colonies. Laistner also focuses more on Sparta than Hornblower does. In short, the two complement each other nicely. The downside of Laistner is that it was written in 1976 but Hornblower was revised in 2002 to reflect modern research.

So, the first weekend in october, i went camping. And found fossil rocks and in general had a rocking time out door.

last weekend was the apos;yearly migrationapos;, where we go see subject42* in state college. This time, mesands* came with us. There was loads of food involved, including dinner at an australian bistro, waffles at a wafflehouse run by a greek guy, insomnia cookies (best idea ever - seriously, a cookie shop open only from 8 PM - 2:30 AM with warm soft gooey cookies? love it), some of the best pulled pork bbq sandwiches iapos;ve ever had. And nature. Good times. I also got to ride a boat inside a cave. Way awesome.

and now this weekend we have the kid and weapos;re off galivanting through various parts of maryland.

Why do people tend to think that the continuation of the human species is important? I mean, yes, thereapos;s a biological issue at play here, but letapos;s try to look beyond that. Itapos;s really not at all important when you think about it. Wanting the species to continue is frankly a pretty vain, egotistical thing. Itapos;s not even something that could possibly affect you.

Face it people, we do not matter that much. We are not especially important in the grand scheme of nature. There is no good reason to say the humanity ought to continue aside from our own jealous preferences.

Now, it could be argued (or not really, because Iapos;ll just agree with you) that itapos;s even more egotistical, but all I really care about the continuation of myself. In fact, I wouldnapos;t hesitate for a moment to destroy the rest of the species (or, for that matter, all life everywhere) if it was absolutely necessary to maintain my own survival. Without being around to appreciate it I have absolutely no care about anything into the future... Although I certainly donapos;t think that means you ought to be a dick about things like the environment.
